Products introduction

With the advancement of industrial technology, the safety and reliability of electrical equipment have become increasingly important, placing increasing demands on the permanent connection of contact components, thermal components, magnetic components, and conductive connectors. As a key process in the low-voltage electrical equipment manufacturing industry, brazing for Brazed Silver Contact Assemblies plays an increasingly important role.

Brazing is a versatile joining process that uses a filler metal to bond two or more materials together. Because brazing creates a strong, leak-proof joint without melting the base materials, it is commonly used across various industries. The Beryllium Copper Spring process involves several key components and methods, including selecting the appropriate filler metal, heating techniques, and brazing paste. Understanding these elements is crucial for achieving high-quality brazed joints.

Main Brazing Methods

Brazing and soft brazing are the two main types of brazing. Brazing is suitable for materials such as carbon steel, cast iron, and copper and its alloys, while soft brazing is commonly used in electronics, electrical machinery, and automotive parts.

Flame brazing: Suitable for brazing carbon steel, cast iron, and copper, and its Beryllium Copper Alloy, with an oxyacetylene flame being the most common flame.

Induction brazing: Fast heating, high efficiency, localized heating, and easy automation.

Resistance brazing: Available in direct and indirect heating methods, it is suitable for Beryllium Copper Flat Spring with significantly different thermophysical properties and thicknesses.

Beryllium Copper Alloys are commonly used in brazing. Silver-based filler metals offer high strength, conductivity, and corrosion resistance, but are more expensive and are primarily used for welds with higher requirements. Tin-lead filler metals are commonly used in soft soldering, offering excellent wettability and conductivity. They are widely used in electronics, electrical machinery, and automotive parts.

Three Stages of Brazing

Flux Melting and Gap Filling: The pre-applied flux is heated and melted, flowing into the gap between the base metals and reacting physically and chemically with the oxide layer on the base metal surface, removing the oxide film and cleaning the surface, thus creating conditions for Beryllium Copper Springs' brazing filler metal filling.

Flux Melting and Gap Filling: As the heating temperature continues to rise, the solder begins to melt and wet and spread into the gap between the base metals, simultaneously removing flux residue.

Interaction between the Solder and the Base Metal: Under the action of the molten solder, a small portion of the base metal dissolves in the solder. Simultaneously, the solder diffuses into the base metal, and a complex chemical reaction occurs at the solid-liquid interface. Once the solder fills the gap, it is held at this temperature for a period of time before cooling and solidifying to form the Beryllium Copper Flat Spring.
