Double Sides Contacts

Double Sides Contacts

Double Sides Contacts (triple silver composite contacts) are multi-layer composite conductive components designed specifically for medium and high voltage electrical appliances (10kV-35kV circuit breakers, high voltage contactors, new energy high voltage relays, etc.). They adopt a sandwich structure of "high-purity silver on the surface + oxygen-free copper in the middle" and undertake the core functions of stable current transmission, strong arc resistance and cost optimization in medium and high voltage scenarios.

Products Description

Double Sides Contacts

Double Sides Contacts (Triple-Side Silver Contacts) are a composite electrical contact material with high conductivity, high wear resistance, and excellent arc resistance. They feature a composite structure design with pure silver layers at the beginning and end and a copper core in the middle. This design combines the excellent conductivity and oxidation resistance of silver with the high strength and cost-effectiveness of copper, providing a stable and reliable electrical contact solution for scenarios involving high-frequency switching and large current surges.

As a key component for on/off control and current conduction in electrical systems, Electrical Switch Trimetal Contacts are widely used in low-voltage electrical appliances, new energy relays, AC contactors, DC contactors, circuit breakers, automotive relays, and industrial control switches. Their structure not only optimizes cost but also significantly improves the overall performance of the product in terms of mechanical fatigue, thermal stability, and arc resistance.

Product Structure and Working Principle

The High Precision Trimetal Silver Electrical Contact consists of three metal layers:

Upper and lower layers (head and tail layers): High-purity silver (Ag) ensures excellent conductivity and arc resistance;

Middle layer: High thermal conductivity and high ductility copper (Cu) enhances mechanical strength and reduces material costs;

Interface layer: A stable metallurgical bond is achieved between the silver layer and the copper core through high-temperature diffusion bonding or thermocompression welding, forming a dense, robust, and continuously conductive composite interface.

When the Trimetal Silver Electric Contact is closed, the silver layers are in direct contact, conducting the main current; while the copper core provides overall support and a heat dissipation channel, resulting in lower contact temperature rise and a longer service life.

Material Advantages

1. High-Purity Silver Layer

Silver is the metal with the best electrical conductivity in Trimetal Rivet Electrical Contact materials, exhibiting low resistivity, small contact voltage drop, and strong arc resistance. Using electrical silver with a purity of 99.9% or higher ensures:

Conductivity improved by over 30%.

Stable Electric Double Metal Contact Rivet resistance, less prone to long-term oxidation;

Smaller arc erosion zone, ensuring a smooth contact surface.

2. Copper Core

Copper, with its excellent thermal conductivity and strength, provides the Three Compound Rivets with good mechanical support and thermal conductivity. Specific advantages include:

Effectively dispersing heat generated by the arc;

Improving the overall deformation resistance of the Trimetal Electrical Rivets;

Reducing material consumption during high-temperature operation.

3. High-Strength Composite Interface

A multi-layer solid-phase diffusion bonding process forms a stable metallurgical interface between the silver layer and the copper core, avoiding delamination or peeling issues. Even under high current surges and frequent switching operations, it maintains long-term electrical and mechanical stability.

Design Advantages

1. High-Performance Composite Structure

Compared to all-silver contacts, the AgCuAg Trimetal Contacts reduce silver usage by approximately 40-60% while maintaining electrical performance, significantly lowering costs, and providing better mechanical support.

2. Customizable Structural Design

Depending on customer assembly methods and switching requirements, the following structural forms are available:

Double-sided silver flat-head type.

Convex-head type;

Riveted type;

Irregularly shaped welded type, etc.

Meeting the structural requirements of different relays, contactors, and electrical switches.

3. Optimized Heat Dissipation and Arc Resistance

The combination of the silver layer and copper core shortens the heat conduction path, enabling rapid dissipation of arc heat and reducing heat accumulation and surface erosion. Even in high-frequency switching applications, stable conductivity is maintained.
