Threaded Clinching Screw

Threaded Clinching Screw

In new energy equipment, industrial control, power electronics, and precision sheet metal structures, reliable threaded connections of thin sheet materials have always been a key challenge in engineering design. Threaded Clinching Screws, as cold-pressed fasteners specifically designed for thin sheets or sheet metal parts, can form high-strength internal threaded connections within limited sheet thickness without welding or tapping. They balance structural strength, assembly efficiency, and aesthetic consistency, making them a widely adopted fastening solution in modern engineering and large-scale manufacturing.

Products Description

A Threaded Clinching Screw is an internally threaded fastener fixed to a thin metal sheet using a clapping/press-in process. When pressed into the base material, its body achieves a mechanical locking mechanism through controlled plastic flow between the screw and the base material via specially designed clapping teeth.

Key properties overview:

Forms an irreversible integral structure with the base material after fixing.

High thread precision, allowing for repeated assembly and disassembly.

No heat-affected zone during installation, does not damage the properties of the base material.

Particularly suitable for thin sheet structures where welding is not permitted or tapping is not possible.

Material Advantages: Born for Specific Missions

High-Strength Carbon Steel (SCM435/35CrMo)

After tempering and heat treatment, it possesses extremely high core hardness and surface toughness. Self-Clinching Screw is the first choice for most applications requiring high-strength connections, such as chassis and cabinets, and automotive parts, offering excellent cost-effectiveness.

Corrosion-Resistant Stainless Steel (SUS304/SUS316)

Using high-quality stainless steel wire throughout, Self-Clinching Bolt possesses excellent corrosion resistance and an aesthetically pleasing surface. It is ideal for medical equipment, food machinery, outdoor facilities, and high-end electronic products.

Self-Lubricating/Special Coating Materials

For specific operating conditions, we can provide high-performance coatings such as Dacromet and Mega-Coating to further enhance its corrosion resistance and anti-friction properties, meeting the most stringent environmental requirements.

Technical Features

Cold Forging Riveting Technology This is the core of press-fit screws. It utilizes the principle of cold plastic deformation of metals to permanently bond the Self-Clinching Compression Screw to the sheet metal under extremely high instantaneous pressure. This is a purely physical process, with no chemical changes and no heat input, making it environmentally friendly.
Precision Thread Rolling Forming The Push-In Clinching Screw blank is extruded using precision thread rolling wheels. This method produces threads with continuous fiber flow lines, superior strength, hardness, and surface finish compared to machined threads, ensuring perfect meshing with the mating bolt.
Controllable Heat Treatment Process Through precisely controlled quenching and tempering (quenching and tempering) processes, we achieve an ideal microstructure of "hard on the outside, tough on the inside" for the screw. The surface is hard and wear-resistant, while the core maintains sufficient toughness to resist impact, guaranteeing its high reliability.

Sectional Metallographic Image

A cross-sectional microscope photograph showing the engagement state between the Self-Clinching Stud press-fit area and the sheet metal after press-fit installation. It clearly shows how the sheet metal tightly and seamlessly wraps around and fills each groove of the press-fit teeth, forming a robust mechanical interlock.

Dynamic Installation Process Simulation Animation

A 3D animation demonstrates step-by-step the plastic flow process of the sheet metal during Self-Clinching Threaded Fastener insertion, highlighting the three-stage mechanism of "displacement-filling-locking," and the difference in mechanism compared to traditional welding and riveting.

Vibration Table Test Comparison Video

Connections using press-fit screws, welded nuts, and ordinary riveting are placed on a vibration table with the same frequency and amplitude. Time-lapse photography shows that the press-fit Self-Clinching Screw connection point shows no visible loosening after prolonged vibration, while other methods may result in loosening or fatigue fracture.

Installation Tool Pressure Curve

A comparison of pressure-displacement curves recorded by the pressure sensor of the installation equipment when using our optimized Self-Clinching Mounting Screws and ordinary screws. Our product curve is smoother, with lower and more stable peak pressure, indicating a smoother installation process and less stress on the equipment and sheet metal.
