Drill Tip: Located at the front end of the mandrel, it resembles a twist drill bit and performs cutting and chip evacuation while penetrating the material. Its helix angle, point angle, and cutting edge sharpness determine penetration efficiency and the quality of the hole wall.
Rivet Body: Usually sleeve-shaped and made of materials such as aluminum alloy, stainless steel, or carbon steel. After drilling is complete, the mandrel is pulled and snapped off, causing the rivet body to undergo plastic deformation and form a bulbous shape that clamps two or more workpieces together.
Mandrel: A pull-rod extending through the interior of the rivet body, featuring a pre-engineered break point at its head. The riveting tool grips the mandrel and pulls outward, utilizing stress concentration at the break point to ensure a precise fracture.
